DENNIS J. BARON

Dennis J. Baron is a partner with Deck & Baron where he has been a firm member since 1984. He has been engaged in the private practice of law since his graduation from law school in 1977. He has a general civil practice including not only transactional, commercial and estate matters but also general civil litigation including commercial, business and family law. He represents many credit unions and lending institutions in their full range of legal needs. Additionally, he represents a wide range of individual clients in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties in regard to their own specific circumstances.
Mr. Baron graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1977. He received his undergraduate degree in 1973 from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with high honors and was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to the bar in Illinois and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
As a native of Kankakee, Mr. Baron has deep roots in the community. He serves as a City of Kankakee Alderman, having been first elected in 1987 and has been the budget committee chair since 1991. He currently serves on several boards and committees of Bishop-McNamara Catholic High School from which he graduated in 1969, and is a long time member of the Catholic Charities Elder Abuse Task Force. He is a member of the Kankakee County Public Building Commission, a prior member of the City of Kankakee Planning Commission and is a life-long and active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kankakee.
